assistant-ui expands cross-platform generative components and persistent interaction state
On October 13, assistant-ui released @assistant-ui/generative-ui 0.0.4 and generative-frame 0.0.5, adding diagrams, maps, tabs, steps, timelines, citations and progress checklists for React and React Native, while allowing explicit user actions to feed UI state into later model context.
Why it matters
Generative interfaces are moving from one-shot rendering to stateful interaction loops, requiring component catalogs, isolated runtimes, host policy and model context to work together.
A closer look
The release improves React Native cards and image sizing, nested-control accessibility in VoiceOver and TalkBack, and Slack mrkdwn escaping. generative-frame persists state, caps model-context feedback at 4,000 characters and marks it as data; $calc uses a bounded interpreter instead of eval, and external fonts or styles require explicit origins.
Who this is for
Generative-UI framework, React/React Native, agent-runtime and security-governance teams

Revisions & corrections (4)
— Use version-specific canonical release for restored October 13 event. Retained October 15 PR explicitly labels a separate later event; source history preserved.
— Correction: restore October 13 generative-ui/frame event after broad changelog canonical URL incorrectly merged the distinct October 15 runtime update. Original date and complete original bilingual content restored; retain audit history.
— Original release/paper and actual publication date verified; new distinct event, bilingual original synthesis with explicit evidence limitations.
— Assistant-ui's October 13 official release combines a new cross-platform generative component vocabulary with persisted frame state and an explicit user-event-to-model-context channel. It is materially relevant, not present in the catalog, and the two same-day package releases are merged into one event.
