Workday makes Sana generate enterprise work surfaces around each task

On October 13, Workday announced Sana as the new Workday Home. Powered by TypeSafe AI's Jev, it presents forms, calendars, approval cards and visualizations for each request while keeping tasks, agent activity and approvals in a persistent work view.

Why it matters

This is a vendor case of generative UI entering core enterprise software. The interface must carry roles, permissions, business processes and human approval, then remain recoverable across work that lasts days rather than merely answer a prompt.

A closer look

Official examples show pay amount and date directly, or a date picker for leave and scheduling, with the task completed after user confirmation. Longer workflows can keep information, agent activity, outstanding tasks and approvals for performance reviews, quarter close or workforce planning in one persistent view. Workday says actions follow existing organizational rules and bring people in when judgment is required. The new Home is available now, with administrators choosing when to enable it and whether it becomes the default. Sana Concierge remains early adopter access and is expected to reach general availability in calendar Q1 2027.

Who this is for

Product, frontend and governance teams evaluating enterprise generative UI, HR/finance agents, approval surfaces and persistent workspaces
