CopilotKit launches Soar, self-hosted enterprise AI coworkers built on AG-UI

CopilotKit announced Soar early access on October 22: engineers deploy it on customer infrastructure, AG-UI connects agents to web, desktop, Slack, Teams, text and internal tools, and a shared checkpoint governs sensitive actions.

Why it matters

This moves AG-UI from embedded assistants toward a cross-channel enterprise work surface, bringing approvals, identity, credentials, audit and skill delivery into one product boundary. It is a vendor case of protocol adoption inside organizational governance.

A closer look

CopilotKit says Soar can run from one machine to EKS, AKS or GKE, supports customer branding, any agent harness, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or compatible local models, and administrator-approved MCP tools. Sensitive actions pass a rule checkpoint that records allow or deny decisions, with audit streaming to a SIEM. Identity options include Google, Microsoft, Okta, SAML/OIDC and SCIM 2.0. Completed threads can propose reviewable SKILL.md files, while CLiF turns demonstrated browser work into skills.

OpenDuet combines proactive attention, persistent tasks and action approval in an open-source AG‑UI workspace

On October 27, CopilotKit released OpenDuet, a self-hostable single-owner proactive-agent template that connects any compatible agent through AG‑UI. Across web, mobile, Slack and Teams, it triages what needs attention, prepares a morning brief, continues background work, and presents an action for approval before sending, paying, signing or deleting.
